Pastor Ed Byrnes – Pastor
Pastor Ed Byrnes and his wife Crystal relocated to Houston in April 2015 after doing church-plant work in Bend, OR. Pastor Ed & Crystal have three grown children, a daughter-in-law and 3 granddaughters; “A young grandparent” is what Pastor Ed calls himself. Pastor Ed became a follower of Jesus in February 1992 and has been madly in love with Jesus ever since. Coming from an un-churched background, he came into a personal relationship with Jesus at that time and has never looked back. “Grace, when you get it, I mean really get it, is totally amazing.”
Ed loves sports both from a spectators and coaching role. One of his hobbies is coaching basketball and soccer. He and Crystal are best friends and have been married since 1987 and surrendered to full-time ministry in 2006. Pastor Ed has been on staff at a church in Cabot, Arkansas as well as the church-planter/pastor of a church in Bend, Oregon. “Pastoral ministry is not something I never imagined how God would use me. But ever since saying yes to God’s calling, I have loved watching Him up close and personal doing what He does through those that love Him.” His ministry style is all about the gospel. “Jesus is what changed my life and He is all I can offer to anyone.” Since arriving to the Houston area, he has grown to love Heritage Baptist Church and seeing all that God is doing.
