AWANA Fall Information and Registration

We are excited to let you know that we WILL be having AWANA at Heritage Baptist Church this year! Though our meetings will look a bit different, we will be offering a program that we believe will best benefit our families and leaders alike. Please read below to find out more.


What will AWANA look like this fall?

Our program will begin using a 3-pronged approach, combining in-person, online, and at-home components.

  1. ONLINE - Our AWANA club now has its own Facebook page. We will add only our AWANA families and leaders to the page. Each week, your child’s club (Puggles, Cubbies, Sparks, T&T) leaders will share a short video or post. These videos/posts might include key verses for each club, simple activity ideas to complete at home, short lessons, etc. They will be posted at the beginning of each week, so that your clubber/family can watch them at a time that is convenient for you.
  2. IN-PERSON (AWANA Family Hour) - Each Wednesday, beginning on October 7th, 2020, there will be an AWANA FAMILY HOUR from 7:00-8:00 PM. This time was chosen to stay consistent with typical club times (7:00-8:30 PM). We will meet at the AWANA game circle at 7:00 for announcements and pledges. Then, families will choose 3 stations to visit. We will spend 15 minutes per station. Stations will vary each week, but may include crafts, games, section passing, and more. We will utilize indoor and outdoor space alike to promote social distancing and make every effort to keep your families safe.
  3. AT-HOME - Each clubber will be able to purchase the appropriate handbook for this year or continue in a handbook they are currently working on. At home, clubbers should work in their handbooks to complete sections. Each club will have designated time available during the week for clubbers to call or Facetime their leaders to pass sections, ask questions, and check in. These times will be decided on by club leaders and shared with their clubbers.


How can we register for AWANA?

There will be two ways for you to register your clubbers.

  2. In-Person Registration: We will have a Registration and BLAST-OFF night on Wednesday, September 30th, beginning at 6:00 PM. You can come watch our AWANA Rockets take flight, grab a packaged snack, register your clubber, and even order handbooks. Our leaders will be available on this night to answer any questions you might have.


How long will we follow this model for AWANA at HBC?

Unfortunately, we cannot give a specific time frame for when we will transition back to our usual club times. We will continue to monitor social distancing guidelines and the climate of our community as we make decisions; we will also keep you informed and up to date.
